ESHG 2025: Recap & Highlights

We’re pleased to share a brief recap of our successful participation in ESHG 2025, which took place this May in Milan. With nearly 7,000 total registrations from over 94 countries, the European Human Genetics Conference once again proved to be one of the most important events in our field, both scientifically and commercially.

This year’s event was attended by colleagues from across our scientific, commercial, marketing, and executive teams, who were joined and supported onsite by our Chief Operating Officer, Staffan Ternström and Head of Business Unit, Stefan Mehrle. This collective presence contributed significantly to the strength, visibility, and professionalism of our representation.

Conference Statistics (Preliminary)

Total registrations reached 6,881. Top attending countries included Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Türkiye, the United States, and the Netherlands.

Medicover Genetics Highlights

Our booth featured a high-visibility branded design and was consistently busy with visitors. Engagement was high, and the booth served as a strong anchor point for outreach and networking.

We delivered a well-rounded Corporate Satellite Session with:

  • Dr. Stefan Mehrle, who opened the session with an introduction to Medicover and our Business Unit
  • Demetra Panayiotou, presenting on our Technology Transfer (TT) platform
  • Dr. Delia Sabau (Synevo Romania), speaking on the clinical application of our NIPTs
  • Matthew Gow (Element Biosciences), introducing the AVITI™ platform

The session drew significant interest, with strong attendance from notable organizations including Illumina, CENTOGENE, McGill University Health Centre, QIAGEN, Element Biosciences, Cambridge Genomics Laboratory, Cambridge Institute for Medical Research, Blueprint Genetics, Twist Bioscience, and Roche.

Our scientific team presented seven posters, covering NIPT, WES, and oncology, reinforcing our thought leadership and commitment to advancing diagnostics.

Additionally, Dr. Skevi Kyriakou joined Element Biosciences CEO Molly He on stage during their corporate satellite session to present validation results for VERACITY NIPT and TarCET on the AVITI™ platform, an excellent example of collaborative science in action.

For Medicover Genetics, ESHG is a strategic opportunity to showcase our expertise, strengthen our scientific reputation, and engage with key stakeholders across academia, healthcare, and industry. It also plays a critical role in supporting our commercial objectives by creating visibility, sparking partnerships, and aligning us with the future direction of genomic medicine.
