MECP2 duplication syndrome

Overview
MECP2 duplication syndrome, also known as X-linked intellectual developmental disorder, Lubs type (MRXSL) is caused by copy number gains involving MECP2 at Xq28 that increases MeCP2 protein dosage, leading to severe intellectual disability in affected males. Infantile hypotonia, recurrent respiratory infections, seizures, and progressive spasticity are characteristic features.
