Prader-Willi syndrome is an inherited multisystem disorder characterised by neonatal hypotonia accompanied by poor feeding and failure to thrive. This initial phenotype subsequently transitions in early childhood to hyperphagia, leading to progressive development of severe obesity if caloric intake is not carefully regulated.
