Hereditary alpha-tryptasaemia (HαT) is caused by germline copy-number gain of TPSAB1, the gene encoding alpha-tryptase, leading to elevated basal serum tryptase and mast-cell-mediator symptoms that range from asymptomatic to severe systemic anaphylaxis.
