Overview
X-linked agammaglobulinaemia (XLA) is an inherited immunodeficiency caused by Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK) deficiency, which arrests B-cell development at the pre-B-cell stage and therefore diminishes immunoglobulin production, leading to recurrent severe bacterial infections.
