Overview
Gaucher disease (GD) is caused by deficient lysosomal acid glucocerebrosidase activity, leading to substrate accumulation in macrophages with multisystem visceral, haematological, and skeletal involvement. The clinical spectrum ranges from a perinatal-lethal form to chronic adult-onset disease.
