PGx paclitaxel
Paclitaxel is a taxane chemotherapeutic used in several solid tumours. It is metabolised by the polymorphic enzyme CYP2C8 together with CYP3A4, and the reduced-function CYP2C8*3 allele has been associated with slower clearance. This analysis determines CYP2C8*3 carriage from a germline blood sample and reports the genotype. The page gives a factual account of the gene to drug relationship only, with no dosing or treatment recommendation.
