The Human Genome Project

The Human Genome Project, created to determine the sequence of the human genome, was one of the most important biomedical research projects of the 20th century. The successful project left an enduring legacy: it provided a vast amount of information that continues to be of value to research today and fostered an awareness of the value of cooperation and the importance of sharing scientific data.
