A new quality standard for corona test centers has been achieved by Test & Fly Center and the Munich Airport Laboratory, both being accredited by the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS). With this accreditation, the test center at Munich Airport becomes the only test center operating in German airports, complying with high-quality standards of DIN EN ISO 15189.
"This is a huge step forward in the professionalization of test centers and laboratories operating in German airports," says Hanns-Georg Klein, MD, Managing and Medical Director of MVZ Martinsried GmbH.
The Test & Fly Center and the Munich Airport Laboratory have been established in November 2020 by a team of specialists in laboratory medicine. Since then, travelers and airline crews are tested for SARS-CoV-2 using various methods to meet specific entry requirements in different countries and to help in the fight against the pandemic.
Being accredited DIN EN ISO 15189, the laboratory at Munich Airport also fulfills all the criteria to provide further high-quality medical diagnostics directly on site.
"We are committed to further expanding our services at Munich Airport by offering travelers or crew members medical diagnostics on the spot, aiming to detect medical conditions that can frequently occur on long-haul flights.," added, Hanns-Georg Klein, MD.
